Karima Wilson is the founder and CEO of Forged Ed, an organization whose mission is to help educators build schools where students of color thrive. Forged Ed partners with educational organizations and schools and provides services, from coaching and consulting to professional developments.
Prior to launching Forged Ed, Karima worked for over a decade in schools in Houston, Texas, as a bilingual teacher, assistant principal, and Principal. Throughout her work in schools, she worked hard to implement practices that served the needs of all of her students and teachers, and demonstrate excellence in all she did, winning the 2009 Harriett Ball Excellence in Teaching Award. Karima earned her Bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College in Sociology & Anthropology and her Master’s degree is Specialized Studies from Harvard Graduate School of Education. In her free time, she likes to cook, work out, and play Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art, where she ranks as an Instrutora.
